AI Headshot Photo Generator – Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about AI Headshot Photo Generator
AI Headshot Photos Generator is an iOS app that uses advanced AI (FLUX 1.1 LoRA technology) to turn your ordinary photos into professional-looking headshots and even short animated portraits. By training a custom AI model on your uploaded selfies or portraits, the app can generate highly realistic images of you in various styles. With over 200+ templates (styles and scenes) to choose from, you can create everything from corporate profile photos to creative avatars. It's like having a personal photo studio on your phone, powered by AI.
Using AI Headshot Photos Generator is simple and user-friendly. Here's how it works:
1. Upload Your Photos: First, you'll provide a set of your own photos (we recommend around 8-12 clear headshots or selfies). The app will guide you through the upload process. Make sure these photos meet the quality tips we provide (good lighting, various angles, etc.) for best results.
2. AI Model Training: Once your photos are uploaded, our AI will train a personalized model based on your face. This training step only takes a few minutes to complete, and it's done automatically – no technical work needed on your part. (Feel free to close the app; you'll be notified when the AI is ready.)
3. Choose a Template & Aspect Ratio: After training is done, you can start creating! Browse the 200+ style templates and select one you like. You can also choose the output aspect ratio – either 1:1 (square) for classic profile pictures or 9:16 (vertical) for a portrait/phone wallpaper look.
4. Generate Photos or Videos: Now the fun part – hit the generate button. The app will create a new AI headshot photo of you in the style you chose. You can also create a 5-second AI animated video instead (using your trained model to animate your portrait). Each photo typically takes only a few seconds to generate, and a video may take a bit longer (but still usually under a minute). The process is fast, so you can experiment with many styles quickly.
5. Save & Share: Preview the results. If you love them, save them to your device or share directly on social media. You can generate as many variations as you want, as long as you have enough coins (see below). Enjoy your new AI-generated headshots!
We understand that you may want your AI-generated content to fit different platforms or purposes. In AI Headshot Photos Generator, you can choose between two aspect ratios for your results:
1:1 (Square) – This is a square format, perfect for profile pictures, Instagram posts, or anytime you need a symmetric look. Most professional headshots are done in roughly square or vertical crops, so 1:1 gives you a nice centered image of yourself. If you plan to use the headshot for LinkedIn, Facebook profile, etc., square works great.
9:16 (Vertical) – This is a tall, portrait orientation (the same ratio as most phone screens, or an Instagram Story/TikTok video). Choosing 9:16 will give you a taller image or video, which can be useful if you want a full-body avatar shot or a portrait that you might use as a phone wallpaper or in a story/reel. The content will still focus on you, but there will be more background visible vertically.
You can select the aspect ratio when choosing a template (some templates might be optimized for one or the other, but generally the choice is yours). The ability to choose aspect ratio ensures your AI headshots and videos are already formatted for wherever you want to post or use them – no extra cropping needed on your end.
Tip: If you're not sure which to use, think about the end use of the image. For example, for a new LinkedIn or resume photo, 1:1 is probably best (or 4:5 which is similar shape). For an Instagram Story or TikTok, the 9:16 will fill the screen nicely. You can always generate in one ratio and then generate in the other for comparison, too, since it's easy to create multiple outputs.
The app is free to download on the App Store, but generating headshot photos and videos requires a subscription (there is no completely free tier for unlimited use). We offer a subscription model with a heavily discounted trial in the first week so you can try out the features at low cost. Here's the breakdown:
- Weekly Subscription: The first week costs only $6.99 (special introductory price), and from the second week onward it auto-renews at $9.99 per week. You can cancel anytime if you decide it's not for you.
- Yearly Subscription: We also offer a yearly plan for around $39.99 per year. This plan gives you full access for 12 months and is much cheaper in the long run (a great value if you plan to use the app beyond a few weeks).
What do you get with a subscription? Every active subscription grants you a weekly allowance of in-app credits called coins. Each week, 60 coins are added to your account for you to spend on generating photos or videos. (Coins reset/renew each week with your subscription renewal.) These coins are what you use to create content in the app – see the next question for details on how coins work.
Note: If you've used up your coins and can't wait for the weekly renewal, you have the option to purchase additional coin packs in the app. This way, you're not strictly limited by the weekly coins – you can top up as needed. The app is designed to provide maximum value through the subscription, but extra flexibility is there if you want more coins immediately.
Coins are the in-app credit system used by AI Headshot Photos Generator. You spend coins whenever you generate a photo or video, or when you train a new AI profile. Here's how it works:
- Each subscription week, you get 60 coins added to your account (think of this like a weekly budget for creating AI content). If you're on the yearly plan, you still receive 60 coins per week as part of that subscription.
- 1 photo = 1 coin: Generating a single AI headshot image of yourself will cost 1 coin. So with 60 coins per week, you can create up to 60 photos each week if you want (that's a lot of headshots!).
- 1 video = 10 coins: Generating one of the short 5-second AI animated videos costs 10 coins. Videos are more resource-intensive, hence the higher coin cost. With 60 coins weekly, you could make up to 6 AI videos per week (or a mix of videos and photos).
- New profile (new model training) = 120 coins: Training a new AI model (profile) for a different person or a completely new set of photos costs 120 coins. This means if you want to create headshots for another person (or retrain with a new batch of your own photos), you'll need to save up coins from two weeks of subscription, or purchase an extra coin pack. Once you have enough coins, you can start a new profile right in the app. (Each profile is separate, so your coins and subscription cover generating content for the profiles you've trained.)
Coins make it easy to understand and control your usage. The app will always show your current coin balance. If you run out, you can wait until your next weekly refresh or buy more coins instantly. Unused coins can accumulate over time as long as your subscription is active, so you can save them up for a big creative session if you prefer.
To get the most accurate and photorealistic headshots, it's very important to choose the right training photos. The quality of the AI's output heavily depends on the input. Here are some guidelines for selecting your photos (this is also explained during onboarding, but we can't stress it enough):
- Use Clear, High-Quality Images: Upload photos that are not blurry or grainy. The better the resolution and clarity of your face, the better the AI can learn your features.
- Variety of Angles & Expressions: Include a variety of shots – different angles (front, slight side profiles), different facial expressions, and different backgrounds or lighting conditions. A diverse set of photos helps the AI model capture your likeness more robustly.
- Consistent Subject (You!): Make sure all the training photos are of the same person (you). Avoid group photos or pictures of other people. The AI is trying to learn one face – yours – so give it consistent data.
- Good Lighting, No Heavy Filters: Photos taken in good lighting (natural daylight or well-lit rooms) work best. Avoid pictures with extreme filters or face-altering effects. Also try to avoid heavy sunglasses, masks, or anything that obscures your face. The more naturally you appear in the photos, the more "true-to-life" your AI headshots will be.
- Include Your Head and Shoulders: The photos should be primarily headshots or upper body shots focusing on your face. This ensures the model learns your facial features clearly. A mix of close-up face shots and some upper-body shots is ideal.
- Keep Appearance Consistent: It helps if your photos reflect a consistent appearance (for example, similar hair color/cut across photos). Minor variations are fine, but if you drastically change your look in some photos (e.g., different hair styles or glasses on/off), the AI might get confused. Pick photos that represent how you usually look.
By following these tips, you'll increase the chances of the AI generating portraits that look exactly like you (just in different styles or scenarios). Remember, the better the input, the better the output!
Not long at all! AI Headshot Photos Generator is designed to give you results quickly. Here's the typical timeline:
Initial Model Training: After you upload your photos, the AI model training usually takes just a few minutes (often around 4 minutes) to process. It can vary depending on server load, but it's generally fast. You don't have to sit and watch it – you can close the app and you'll get a notification when your AI model is ready.
Generating Photos: Once the model is trained, creating individual photos is almost instant. In most cases, an AI headshot image will generate in a matter of seconds. You can tap a style template, hit generate, and see the result appear shortly after. This makes it easy to create dozens of variations quickly.
Generating Videos: Creating the 5-second animated video takes a bit more processing than a single image, but it's still fairly quick. Typically, an AI video will be ready in under a 5 minutes. The app might spend a short time "animating" your photo to produce the video clip.
Overall Turnaround: From start to finish, you could have your first AI headshots within 10 minutes of downloading the app (assuming you have your training photos ready to go). Many users are amazed at how fast they can go from a few plain selfies to a gallery of professional-looking portraits and a cool animated video.
In summary, you won't be waiting long – no hours or days of turnaround like traditional photo studios. Same-day results are the norm, usually within minutes. If for some reason a process is taking unusually long or seems stuck, you can always contact support, but that's rare. We strive to deliver your AI content as fast as possible without compromising quality.
Aside from still headshot photos, our app can also create short AI-animated videos (about 5 seconds long) of your portrait. These are like moving portraits – imagine your photo coming to life for a few seconds. Here's what you need to know about this feature:
Lifelike Animations: The AI takes a generated image of you and animates it slightly. For example, your headshot might smile, blink, or turn its head subtly, as if it were alive. It's similar to those viral 'animated portrait' effects you may have seen, where a still photo is given a bit of motion. There is no audio in these clips (they're not talking videos, just visual animation), and they last about 5 seconds.
How to Make One: To create an animated video, you use the app similarly to creating a photo. After training your model, choose a template/style you want (some templates support video animation) and select the video option (ensure you have 10 coins available, since each video costs 10 coins). The app will then generate a short video instead of a still image. You might see your AI-self winking, tilting your head, or with some dynamic effect depending on the template.
Use Cases: These mini-videos are perfect for sharing on social media or just surprising your friends. For instance, you can use them as an eye-catching profile video, a story, or just a fun way to show a 'living photo' of yourself. They add personality beyond a static picture.
Quality and Realism: We use the same AI model of you to create the videos, so the animated face should resemble you just as well as the photos do. The animations are deliberately short and subtle to maintain realism – the goal is a cool but natural-looking motion. In our templates, you might become a moving statue, a blinking photograph, or have environmental effects moving around you (like falling confetti, etc.), depending on the style chosen.
Give the animated video feature a try after you've seen your photos. It's a unique way to see yourself in action, and it only takes a few seconds to watch (or to create)! Many users find this feature brings an extra 'wow factor' to their AI creations.
Yes, you can! We designed the app so you can create AI headshots for anyone – yourself, your friends, family, etc. However, each person will need their own AI model (profile) to be trained. In practical terms, that means:
If you want to create headshots of a different person, you'll need to start a new profile in the app and upload that person's photos to train a separate model. The app allows multiple profiles; you can manage them within your account.
Training a new model costs 120 coins (as mentioned earlier). This cost is there because the app has to do a whole new training process for the new person. Once that model is trained, you'll then use your weekly coins to generate images or videos for that profile just like you did for the first profile.
You can switch between your saved profiles in the app to generate content for each. For example, you could have one profile for yourself, one for a friend (if they gave you permission and photos to create their headshots), etc. Just make sure you keep the photos organized by profile – uploading person A's photos into person B's profile will not work (and could produce very odd results!). The app will guide you to avoid mixing profiles.
Important: Coins are shared across profiles under your account. So if you have 60 coins per week, that 60 is the total you can spend across all profiles. (It's not 60 per profile.) Plan accordingly if you are managing multiple people's headshots, or consider an extra coin purchase if you need to generate a lot for multiple profiles in a given week.
Many users stick to one profile (for themselves), but we definitely have users who create a second profile to see what a partner or sibling might look like in AI headshots, for fun, or even to generate cute couple photos via AI. Just remember each profile is separate and costs coins to set up initially. After that, you're good to go! (Note: Please only upload photos of others if you have their permission to do so. We take privacy seriously for all users.)
Your privacy and data security are top priorities for us. We know it can feel sensitive to upload personal photos, so we've put strong measures in place to protect your data:
Used for AI Training Only: The photos you upload are only used to train your personal AI model. We do not share these photos with any third parties, and they aren't used to train any public/general AI beyond your own model.
Automatic Deletion of Uploaded Photos: After the AI model is trained, your original training photos are deleted from our servers. In fact, we purge those images very quickly (usually immediately or within a short time after training is complete). We don't keep your personal pictures on our servers longer than necessary to do the job. This minimizes any risk of data leaks.
Secure Storage of Models/Results: Your AI model (the learned representation of your face) is stored securely so that you can continue generating new images without re-uploading photos each time. This model data is kept private and is associated only with your account. We typically retain the model for a certain period (for example, one month) unless you delete your profile or request deletion earlier. Your generated images and videos might be saved in the app for your convenience (so you can browse your results), but only you can access them.
You Have Control: You can delete your AI model/profile at any time from within the app. If you delete a profile (or your account), all associated data (the model and any stored images) will be permanently removed from our systems. Likewise, if you delete any specific generated image or video from the app, it's removed from our servers. We provide these options so you're in full control.
No Selling or Misusing of Data: We will never sell your photos or personal data to anyone. That includes your uploaded photos, the AI model data, and the outputs. Also, you retain ownership of your AI-generated images (more on that below), so we won't be using your face or images in any advertisements or anything sketchy.
App Privacy Practices: The app may collect some usage data (like crash reports or analytics) just to improve the service, as is standard, but this info is not tied to your personal photos. You can review our Privacy Policy for full details on what data is collected and how it's handled. We comply with all App Store privacy requirements and then some.
In short, your photos are safe with AI Headshot Photos Generator. We take privacy seriously and have implemented industry-best practices to ensure your data remains private. If you have any specific concerns, feel free to contact our support, and we'll be happy to provide more detail. We want you to feel comfortable using the app knowing your images are in good hands.
You do! You retain full ownership and rights to the images and videos generated of you. We believe that since these AI headshots are images of you, created for you, they should be yours to use however you want. Once you've generated a photo or video, you can download it and treat it like any other photo you took yourself. Feel free to use your AI headshots on LinkedIn profiles, Instagram, Facebook, dating profiles, your personal website, or even print them out for personal use. There are no watermarks on the paid outputs and no usage restrictions from our side. In fact, we grant you full commercial rights as well, meaning if you wanted to use an AI-generated headshot for a business purpose (say, in marketing materials, or as a headshot in a book, etc.), you are allowed to do so. Some key points about ownership and usage:
Our terms of service specify that the user (you) has ownership of the output content. We don't claim any ownership over the images of your face that our AI creates. They are considered your content.
You can edit them, share them, or even use third-party filters on them just as you would any photo. (For example, if you get an AI headshot and then want to touch it up in another app, that's totally fine.)
If you're a content creator or professional, yes, you can use these on your portfolio, in your articles, videos, etc. Many users generate professional-looking portraits here and then use them on resumes, company websites, or LinkedIn with great success.
We love when users share their results, but that's entirely up to you. We do not automatically share or publish any of your images. (Occasionally, we might reach out to ask for permission if we want to feature a cool before-and-after on our website or something, but that's only with your explicit consent. By default, everything is private.)
So, rest assured: the outputs belong to you. This is also stated in our privacy and terms – we want you to have peace of mind that you're not giving away the rights to your own face. Many other services follow this principle as well, confirming that the user has full ownership of every headshot generated. We're no different in that regard.
We hope you love the app, but if you ever need to cancel your subscription, it's easy to do so. All subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store (since you subscribed via your iTunes/Apple ID account). Here's how to cancel:
On your iPhone (or iPad), go to Settings > [Your Name/Apple ID] > Subscriptions. Find AI Headshot Photos Generator in your subscriptions list.
Tap on it, and you'll see an option to Cancel Subscription. Confirm the cancellation. Apple might ask you to confirm once more. Once canceled, your subscription will not auto-renew any further.
Timing: Be sure to cancel at least 24 hours before your next renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. For example, if your weekly subscription renews every Monday and you decide to cancel, do it by Sunday to be safe. Apple's policy is that they charge the renewal within 24 hours prior to the period end.
After cancellation, you will still retain access to the premium features until the end of the current paid period. So if you cancel mid-week, you can still use any remaining coins and features until that week's subscription period ends. After that, the app will revert to the free/basic version (which typically means you won't be able to generate new headshots without re-subscribing).
If you subscribed to the yearly plan and cancel, the same principle applies – you keep access until the full year you paid for is over, then it won't renew.
There are no hard strings attached — cancel anytime just as Apple's standard subscription terms allow. We've also priced the plans to be as flexible as possible (weekly options and a low-cost yearly option) so that you can choose what's best for you. And of course, if you ever change your mind, you can resubscribe in the app to regain access. For any billing or refund issues, you generally handle those through Apple as well (since they process payments), but you can always contact us if you're unsure. We want you to have a good experience, whether you stay subscribed or not. Your generated images remain yours even after canceling. Just make sure to save any images/videos you want to keep if you won't be maintaining the subscription.
